and another comment....

Noah turns to me - holding a back pack and says:
-Bye mom, I'm going on bacation"

me: wow - awesome! Where to?

Benji answers - To Hawaii mom - he is going to Hawaii....

LOL!

Just an ordinary comment

We are getting the letters on the mail and there is a few that are junk mail.

Benjamin sorts them out to me and says:

"Those are for you mama, these are dad and those here are ordinary ones..."

Ordinary? really? I wouldn't use this word in a million years - What does that mean, anyways?

the cutest gift I have ever got!...

I forgot to post about this, having guests in the house took me off track for a little while, but now that I'm thinking about it I want to share with you the cutest gift ever!...

This year for my birthday Dan got me a star!
Yeah - a Star!
These is one of those things that I always wanted but never was gonna say anything, ykwIm? It's not fun if you ask for it?! I think it's super romantic too! He read this beautiful poem before he gave it to me, while he was reading I was wondering "hu - lots os love, star and my name in this poem - wonder what he is up to" and sure enough! A star registry!

So - somewhere up in the sky there's a star with my name! =) *so Cool*

Then tell me what am I supposed to do????

So this morning I had to wake Noah up to take Ben to school. It was a busy crazy morning... I took Noah from the bed, got him into the car with a cup of chocolate milk and we left. As I get to the school Noah is crying because he needs to go pee. I can only imagine how bad he needs to go (usually, like pretty much everyone I know he goes to the bathroom right after he wakes up with a full bladder) so I knew I had no time to go inside and get him to a bathroom... It is a lil walk until the building and I KNEW we had no time. So before I even spent a minute thinking what do to I took him out of the car and told him to go pee on in my car tire. Very discret (really) he went very close to the car and only put his pee pee out and did his business. No flashy - no big deal. EXCEPT when I look around there are LITERALLY 6 mom's STARING at us!!! Like staring as if I committed a murder or something!

I mean it's not like we do this every time - it's not like I was gonna let him do it on his pants and have all that to get stressed about! And have to go back home with a wet pants on the car seat blah blah blah !
I'm sorry to say - and I DO NOT want to sound rude... but this would NOT be such a big deal in Brasil and it makes me SO annoyed!

People are so quick to judge.

Awesome videos

This brazilian guy is making history on you tube and I'm adicted to his videos!!!! Very criative!

Esse brazuca aqui faz cada video demais! Eu viciei!  criatividade nota 1000!!!

by the way - but totally OOT, at this time 5 yrs agora I was already 3 cms dilated and 50% A. Getting ready to receive Benjamin! What a joy - can't believe how time flies and how big my baby boy is!!!

* SO * Noah

Ya know - like 3 or 4 times people came to me and told me that Stewie reminded them of Noah. And yeah it's a funny show - and funny little guy but he is so mean and rude at time, so when people compare your child to that it kind of - you know... makes you wonder "what have I done wrong?!"

Then I think - "Well it's a cartoon, it's so unrealistic and they are just saying that because.... whatever...."

Well - People say that because probably they saw this before!!! LOL

Books for the whole family

I really do like to read. I don't do it as often as I would like to - and what frustrates me it's the fact I just don't read because of pure laziness...
But we got into the book subject because the boys got $10/ each from grandma on a Valentines Day Card, we totally forgot about that money until Saturday when we went out to Sam's club. While we were looking for socks the boys saw these really cool activity books. We have got a ton of them, I get them at Walmart, the dollar store and other places. Usually there material is really crap. Newspaper like paper and most of activities are "Coloring". So anyways, the boys saw there books and they wanted them so bad. We talked a little and they decided to use their Valentines Day money to buy them - they are about $11/each on sale. Original price was closer to 20 bucks.
Anyways.... long story short - these were the best $10 ever spent! The kids (more Benjamin, for sure) have being into these books like crazy. They are so interested on these activities and I'm excited myself!
We were about to start our own activities since I just realized that Benjamin is 6-7 mos away from Kindergarten.
The school registration is in 2 weeks and I got a list of "things your child should know before kindergarten". So that got me thinking about how ready is he/and how I really should spend more time working with him.

So we have being spending all kinds of time in the books. While the kids do activities I will seat and ready something myself. They need help at first, explaining the instructions on the activities but that will by me hours of peace and quiet and to top it off the best way possible it's not on video-games! Is on LEARNING!
on Books!!! =))) And of course that gets me excited and into reading as well!
These have instigated such a love for learning on the boys that it amazes me. They have curiosity, their eyes are always "on" paying attention into everything that is happening around them! It's incredible!

So - yes I highly recomend these books. Good quality, easy to work with and very interested with the kids! We got the Pre-K for Noah and the Kindergarten for Benji and I'm sure we'll be buying new ones as they get finished.

What kind of mother are you?

Not always we know what to do as mothers. Sometimes we feel we are too hard, or too soft – sometimes we find ourselves doing that one thing our mamas did we always said we wouldn't do the same.

Not always we know what's the best way to go – or to correct a problem. Not always we know if we are teaching too much or wonder if they are eating enough vegetable.

Now the one thing the human being it great at doing it labeling and judging. It's a great quality we all have and yet don't use it wisely.

I would bet millions of dollars that Everyone – I mean EVERYONE out there at some point in life looked at a child with a runny nose and didn't think “Oh MY kids will NEVER walk around with a snotted nose”

or when you saw a mother correcting they child you thought “Oh boy, she is such mean mother, I'm never yelling at my kids like that – communication is the best way and kids need limit.” or a

“She has no control over her kids”

and the list goes on and on....

Truth is that for other kids also you can be strong and keep your word – but when it come to your own kids... “aww they are suffering” or “look at those eyes”... and we just give in. Either that or we just don't want to deal with it do we also give in! =oP

Bottom line is that we ALL did and still after you had had your kids and you KNOW by living it it's NOT as easy as it sounds we still do it. All the time.

I sure don't know many things but there is one thing that I know well. And that is the kind of mother I DO NOT want to be. And the kind of kids I DO NOT want to have.

Having the control and power to do that (have or not have – be or not be) is a whole other story.
But I'm working towards it and I have found its harder than it looks but also it's all about keeping your mind in place and not loosing focus!
Writing is being a great tool for me. Finding out WHAT it is that I feel – and finding out WHY is that I'm feeling that way – what can I do to fix it before I loose my mind! =)

After all - I do wanna be a good mama – who doesn't???

We also need to understand and accept 2 things.
1.we are our worst judges (does that make sense?)
2.some mistakes are inevitable and that is just how we learn.

As for this week my focus will be on the volume of my voice. Not yelling. Time to do a little bit of “get out of your butt” parenting. And that won't hurt anyone! =)

I will report here soon! Hopefully with good results.
