“Did you feel that wind?”

“Did you feel that wind?” -Now imagine that, 2 am, three guys sleeping in the back, on a 1986 Volkswagen Bus.

My sister and my aunt crack me up. We’re driving on 42, past midnight and they bring up urban legends as a car passes us… haha

I’ll miss James and Geoff.

Zoo for a bunch of animals…

Today I believe it was the warmest day we’ll have for a while – so we had an opportunity to go to the Cincinnati Zoo. It was a very cool time, talking about the animals we have at the Zoo in Sao Paulo, and just about where animals are from - Very educational.

We took my family for a very American dinner at Bob Evans – LOL

Benji is very much into trains! It fascinates him… it’s fun to watch him play!

Just because I said something about Dan’s family on my last post Frances showed up here last night to visit with my family… anyways, I feel like I had to say something!!! =oP

A few things from this past week…

We actually made it to the C-HOP meeting last wed. It was a blessed time, I think everyone enjoyed as much as I did (Shannon, we missed you! – next time, maybe?) I noticed this time that they have a nice shop there, great items.

I feel sad I missed 2 weeks of the 3Ms meeting at Shelly’s but there is just too much going on around here =(

The new Kroger is awesome! They have a huge organic produce section, so much bigger then any of the other stores. Nice sushi and even an olive bar, great price for organic stuff! -But a crappy service! Of course, nothing is perfect….

My finger still hurts from the elevator smashing… maybe I should look for a doctor this week.

Tati and I are trying to get involved with some sort of organization to donate gently used clothing, food and maybe time. Any suggestions?

It’s funny… but if someday Dan’s family got to go to Brasil, no matter how far they were from my parents, I know my mom and my dad would make all the effort to go meet them, even if they were hours away. My family has been here for two weeks now and Frances never even called once, to see if they made in safe. For my aunt and uncle it’s really weird to be here and not see anybody else from the family. The only one they got to meet from Dan’s family, was Mike.

In Brasil, we’re all about family. It hurts me to think that I don’t have family in Cincinnati but I feel blessed to be able to say that I have many friends who are like family to me. My friends came over to meet my family, welcome them, spend time with them, and took them out to do fun things

A sale, a game and a date

Old friends!!! Wild Oats has all their body care products 25% off!!! I got Noah some tie-dye socks (100% organic, dye free!!) for a very special price.

The boys really enjoy seeing the snow for the first time. They played outside for hours. Even with all the snow, in the afternoon we drove to the Cintas Xavier Stadium to watch a basketball game. Tim, Shannon and the girls were there too!!! The place was kinda empty, but it was really fun, we all had a really good time.

Victor, William and Augusto got along pretty well with Shelly’s boys. It was so cute to hear Jack asking to play with the “buzz-e-llians” and asking them to speak “porto Rican” – Portuguese! Hahaha

Dan and I went out for dinner a couple of nights ago, on a date! We went to this really good thai place, we had a nice chance to talk and just enjoy our time without the kids.

We went to visit Union Terminal yesterday. I really wanted to visit the Titanic exhibit, but we ran out of time. It was so freaking cold that after that we drove around Cincinnati for a little bit. I hope to go there next week when things get calmer around here.

Me, my aunt and Claudia went to Old Navy today. All clearance items were extra 50% off. I’m so freaking fat, so I didn’t get a chance to get much stuff, but they had a good time.

Guests - lots of them! =))

We’re hosting my aunt and her family for a few weeks. My aunt, my uncle and three of my cousins (6, 8 and 11) and it’s been a lot of work but I’m amazed at how everyone got settled and comfortable in no time. So here are the updates: (The little I can think about with all the noise here!)

Benjamin: his vocabulary is awesome!! Doubling every day and getting more and more clear… I think life is a whole lot easier now that he can communicate better. Not really doing the sign language anymore but I still want to see if he’ll help me teach it to

Noah. He is having a blast with Jessica and, also, my cousins. I think he’s going to miss them really bad when they leave.

I got him this huge pack of Backyardigans foam stickers at Linens’N’Things for a couple of bucks and he is so into it that I have to hide it! And talking about hiding…

I’ve been doing that with the pacifier. As long as he doesn’t see it, he’ll only ask for it if he’s got a booboo.

I’m not sure I’ve mentioned this before, but he’s actually calling Noah: “Noah”! Hahah He’s pronouncing the “Ah” too!!! It is so great to see how he recognizes people, and say their names; he’s a lot more social and easy going with people.

Noah: basically seating down by himself, very talkative, reaching for things and bringing everything to his mouth. Loving to play with his feet, he’s tried papayas, bananas, apples and organic teething cookies. Also loving bath time and interacting with Ben and other kids. Now he enjoys sling-riding again!!!

Dan: when we got back from Brasil his bald spots were pretty bad so he shaved and it looks really good. He also feels colder, like me! He really likes the new season of 24 but I can’t watch it… we do watch Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and The Office together. We try not to get hooked on any other TV show so we can get some more quality time with the boys.

Lilian:
Fatter then ever… but happy! (Besides the time I worry about my daddy)
Also: Happy Birthday to me!! =)

Tim and Shannon got me the cutest cookie cake, they came over for dinner and (as usual, whenever we spend time with them) we had a very good time!

She e-mailed me pretty pictures – I need to download them and post here soon!

Back home

It’s good to be back home – however I’m very upset to find out that the Drs. are suspecting a couple of lung tumors on my dad now… (Please keep him in your prayers!) - I don’t even want to think about what can happen – it upsets me a lot.

It’ll be hard to get a good update on everything that has been going on since we got back from Brasil. -The flight was worse then the way there and I felt very unwelcome when I got here. I dunno, just not many people remembered my birthday, the neighbors didn’t show up to say hello… It just felt weird and I found out two days later that they were trying not to spoil my surprise birthday party that happened on Friday, feb. 12th.
