To start the new year on the funny side - Dan felt asleep in the couch, during a movie and Benjamin seriously asked me:
"Mom, are you gonna be strong enough to carry daddy to bed?"

I overheard their conversation
bits and pieces of a serious conversation....
Ben said: "you don't need to worry about that, remember you can always sleep in recess"
Blah blah blah conversation goes on and he gets frustrated and he goes: "Oh I wish I was single"
Then I just HAD to interrupt and say "but baby, you are single, you are not married."
Ben: I mean a single son
Me: Single child?
Ben: I guess - You know what I mean, single son, single child.... **break** and yes not married
LOL
While this whole conversation happens Noah is singing in the background: "And all girls say Im pretty fly for a why guy!"
LOL!!! How can you live in this household and not smile??? =D

While talking about something I can't remember - it came up the subject of making it better and Ben shares his idea of better:

________________I was singing a song to get them to do chores around the house and got questioned by Ben: How did you get so creative to steal song to use it to speak to me and Noah?!?!?

Me: Not really baby, you came from a surgery - that is actually the new fashion way... you were so stubborn even before you were born
Noah: So whats the old fashion way to be born?
Me: Well the old fashion way is called "natural" but you were so stubbern I needed to have a surgery to have you!
Ben: I'm glad Im not a girl I wouldn't want to have a baby, it hurts! Was I born natural? how did it feel?
Me: Oh no baby, not at all - It's like pooping!
Ben: Yeah - I'm a natural poop! =)
Paste for the teeth
While getting ready to brush his teeth:
People have lots of teeth - so why don't we call teethpaste? we don't brush one tooth! We don't use it in one tooth!!! I don't get it!!!by Benjamin
Ben's happy place
Ben was told by his teacher to imagine a "dream room" and look outside the window and there he would find his happy place - this is his image, he told me it's Brasil, a day we had ice cream with my cousin before going to the park, and he was so detailed - the arched wall and the street just like the place! Amazing how he remembered!!! Well, no wonder - it's his "happy place"!
When it comes to music....
Ben: Mom, can you get me a red i pod? please? load me up with some music that I like to i can just listen to whenever I want to - ok? Like tomorrow!
I was thinking: REALLY??? just like that??

Everything I think Haven is like

Benjamin was having a very hard time going to sleep the past two days, we being talking to him for the last hour or so trying to figure it out what’s going on in that little head and I think he finally broke it down.
The poor little boy misses his Vovo Celso! *Sign* His lil heart is acheing and this won't be the first or the last time that I feel helpless =(
Seeing Vovo Fatima makes him think about Vovo Celso a lot. He is very upset to even think she’ll be living back to Brasil in August. He shared so many interesting things with me that I asked him to hang on while I grabbed my computer go register his ideas about heaven. Here they are:
Me: So Ben, tell me again what you just told me about heaven and vovo Celso so I can type it; ok?
Benjamin: Ok, I don’t remember all I said but I think I said Vovo Celso is in heaven having lots of fun, making new friends there because I’m sure that he is – I mean, having fun and making friends, you know???
I bet he can see outer space there too; because he is in the sky, and outer space is in the sky which is park of heaven and he is just so close to it right now! He is dead but you know – he is still alive in the Sky! He is with Jesus and God and having all kinds of fun and I hope he can write letters too.
I remember the day he left; he said goodbye to me, so I guess that is ok that he left. And you cried so much so dad took me to tia Dani’s house, because you were so sad. But you don’t have to be sad. It’s ok mom!
I miss him and I don’t understand why we just don’t get to see him and I don’t understand who I missed him going to heaven!?!!?!? How did he even got to fly all the way to the clouds and I missed it?
*pause*
B: When are we all going to die?
Me: Oh boy Benji – we reeeeeeally don’t want to talk about that! To die it’s not a bad think at all, but the people that don’t die with you just miss you very much – do you understand?
B: Yes
Me: So can we not talk OR think about this?
B: Yes. But can you still stay with me even after I sleep?
Me: I sure can love.
We kissed good night and just as I re-read this post and added the introduction to his words he was asleep!
Sweet dreams love of mine, this greatful mama is off to bed too!

Things that make me mad/smile
I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and my brain was just going a thousand miles an hour, I couldn't relax with all things coming to my mind that I wanted to write about it; so I get up and come down here to the computer and my mind goes blank.
I mean TOTALLY 110% BLANK and I cannot remember one thing, not one little tinny thing! This is the kind of shit that drives me insane! =oP
So here goes a little conversations I had with Ben weeks ago and had posted on "draft"
Benji asks: "Does Jesus has powers like God?"
Me - yes, remember Jesus is God's son!
B: "I knew it!" - he got quiet for a minute and he said: If He has power is He EVER gonna make spring and summer again?

Now THIS is the REAL meaning of EASTER!
In Brasil we have big chocolate eggs on Easter - that is pretty much it, no candy or stuffed animals or any other toys - just CHOCOLATE EGGS! And that is one of the few things we miss like crazy on Easter.( I miss this one awesome cake too called Colomba Pascal)
The chocolate eggs come in all sizes and of course we always look for the biig ones, as tall as 40 inches! They have all different themes and come stuffed with truffles, bonbons or even toy sometimes...
Every year we get a taste of it because we either were in Brasil until carnaval or mom sends it to us but this year we were thinking it wasn't gonna happen until today! =) Tia Vera sent some with Tati for both kids! =) Can I say they had a blast?
April Fusca Day! =)
Ben keeps "getting" Noah on april fools day so finally Noah says back at him:
"We are not going to a park we are going to the dentist and you are gonna have surgery! - Hahahahah April FUSCA day"
Now let me say - what a harsh joke for a 3 year old to come up with!! And the "Fusca" was just hilarious!

Update on the tennis
Turns out we learned a lot about tennis this past 2 days. Ben played so hard with the racquets K got him that they felt apart. Later we learned why – its because those were Badminton’s racquets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton). He was still into it so without thinking much we just decided to invest on it. We went to Play it again sports and we learned the difference between jrs and adult racquets. We got Ben a nice racquet and as well one for Dan & I and balls. He played for the rest of the afternoon! It totally surprised me that he was ok with not being able to do it right the way. He was being patience and trying so hard but still having fun with it!
I do not regret! =) Now I need to get on the ball and make sure I sign him up for April classes.

We being talking about Benjamin doing a sport as an extra activity after school but we just never take the time to go sign him up (awful parents - I know!). We lost AGAIN the sign up for SAY Soccer so when I got the local Community Center paper right the way I started reading and marking the ones I was thinking were a good idea: Soccer - Karate - Gymnastics - Tennis - Golf, Swimming...
Well, after talking to daddy and Ben about it, B was no way to be flexible - he had his heart and mind set into TENNIS! =)
Great!!! I'm loving it I think it's awesome and at no means I want to be negative I just know how my son works.
He will take the racket and believe he can hit all the balls easily like he does on the WII game. I talked to him about it and explained and explained! It requires lots of work and concentration!
Anyways the classes don't start until April and Ben is a bag full of anxiety waiting for this class to start! I don't want to go out and get him the gears just yet because I want to make sure he is really gonna be into it! I posted a little note on Facebook to see if anyone had an extra one laying around to let us use or for sale. K found a pair at a GW store and got it for him and Noah!
