Books for the whole family

I really do like to read. I don't do it as often as I would like to - and what frustrates me it's the fact I just don't read because of pure laziness...
But we got into the book subject because the boys got $10/ each from grandma on a Valentines Day Card, we totally forgot about that money until Saturday when we went out to Sam's club. While we were looking for socks the boys saw these really cool activity books. We have got a ton of them, I get them at Walmart, the dollar store and other places. Usually there material is really crap. Newspaper like paper and most of activities are "Coloring". So anyways, the boys saw there books and they wanted them so bad. We talked a little and they decided to use their Valentines Day money to buy them - they are about $11/each on sale. Original price was closer to 20 bucks.
Anyways.... long story short - these were the best $10 ever spent! The kids (more Benjamin, for sure) have being into these books like crazy. They are so interested on these activities and I'm excited myself!
We were about to start our own activities since I just realized that Benjamin is 6-7 mos away from Kindergarten.
The school registration is in 2 weeks and I got a list of "things your child should know before kindergarten". So that got me thinking about how ready is he/and how I really should spend more time working with him.

So we have being spending all kinds of time in the books. While the kids do activities I will seat and ready something myself. They need help at first, explaining the instructions on the activities but that will by me hours of peace and quiet and to top it off the best way possible it's not on video-games! Is on LEARNING!
on Books!!! =))) And of course that gets me excited and into reading as well!
These have instigated such a love for learning on the boys that it amazes me. They have curiosity, their eyes are always "on" paying attention into everything that is happening around them! It's incredible!

So - yes I highly recomend these books. Good quality, easy to work with and very interested with the kids! We got the Pre-K for Noah and the Kindergarten for Benji and I'm sure we'll be buying new ones as they get finished.

No new year's resolution here

But I'm reading this book and It Has opened up my head a bunch (the mouth a little too)

Hope to be able to SHUT my mouth by the end of this book! =) LOL

Em portugues:
Eu nao fiz nenhum gol para 2010 mas esotu sim lendo este livro que se chama “o fim da gula” - estou chocada com o conteudo – meus olhos estao arregaldos! (E a boca sempre neh!)

Quem sabe ate ofim do livro eu aprendo a FECHAR a boca!!!! =)))

Book & TV

The kids are in love with Peppa Pig - I found a DVD with 15 episodes all in Portuguese; it also included a book with 2 stories and a little Peppa doll. They watch it at least once a day! =)
Benji is doing amanzinly awesome with his Portuguese. He will actually ask to watch movies or for me to read books in Portugues.
Noah in the other hand says "Mom - it's not working" LOL

Here is what I'm up to now: In English this book is called : "Exorcize your fat soul" - I hope it helps on something -LOL

We are (I'm) reading

For the boys:

Or not - because they know every sentence of this book! But yet don't seing to get tired of it.
And for me, I choose a couple diferent ones for this vacation, For Laci i the one I'm reading now - haven't got too far with it with all that has being going on, but so far all that I expected.

Little update

We made to the Cobblestone church yesterday. I really enjoyed it. It feels a lot like what I was looking for except that I like opening the bible for reading (however it may happen another days and or that’s why we have small groups) We’ll see next Sunday if Dan is gonna go again!

Dan and I got a “shot” of O2 Sunday (www.o2fresh.com), at first I didn’t think much about it but Monday I realized we would NOT have had accomplished as much as we did Sunday otherwise. I just want one of those machines for me – here at the house. For ANY time – it would be great uh?

Daddy stayed at home today and that was a treat! =)
It’s amazing how much the boys love spending time with him –They are all about Dad
Noah will literally “throw” himself to daddy anytime he is around!

We had lunch with Mike and Kristin and Kristin gave Ben a HUGE box of children books. There were over 50 of them! They were pretty cool and in great shape too. There were Dinosaurs, Dr. Seuss, Blue’s Clues, Fishes, Elmo, a very cool Adventure Bible and lots more! Thanks SO SO much Kristin! We are so happy you thought about us! =)

Benji loooves books and I’m sure they will be well used!

Freaky

What a freaky shot Dan got of Benji & I @ the pool. Is that my soul trying to escape?! Anyways…

Baby #2 scared the hell out of us yesterday but everything is ok now. I’m 99% sure he dropped - Already 3cm dilated and 50% effaced. I understand I’m 38 1/2 weeks, and will complete 39 weeks on Saturday (Yes, EDD now is 08/19) Whatever!

Benji is doing great - we went to a bookstore today that it’s closing and have books for $1 for paper back and $2 for hardcover - but the store it was like really cool. Feelt like I was shopping in a ”mini” B&N w/ a gret price! They had pretty new books and stuff… It’s cool how much Benji loves books. He does like for us to read *every night* before bed and it was just adorable to see him at the store, browsing & having lots of fun w/ all those books, we spent a long time there and we could of stayed longer!
- He got it from me! =)
