It's not fair

I once had you – you always had me.

I know what I love about you - but I'm not sure if there's anything you can love on me.

I need you - and blogspot sucks for not having an optiong to do a private note =oPPP

It's always all about you! And I like it like that! =)

Feeling a lil pain - in advance.

*deep breath*

No sure where to start – I guess I can’t find words to define how great our vacation has being. Of course there are bad times – missing dad, barfs, missing our beds, barfs, missing our friends, barfs, out of any kind of routine, barfs and of course barfs. (If u know my kids u know they barf a lot!) But those have being the coolest days of our lives!

The boys are just growing up so fast. I’m not sure what it is – if it’s the contact with “new” people all the time or just the summer (I believe we grow up, intellectually speaking during the summer and fall) but they are just developing at light speed and I’m just amazed.
Brasil is a beautiful place, full of good people that are just full of love!

Brazilians know how to have fun – it’s just their nature. They see and find a way to have fun in everything they do. I miss that. I think I lost a lot of my roots.
People around here have faith.

But on top of it all – what I love the most here it’s my family – the love they have to my kids and how happy they are. I can say that at least 95% of the days they spend with family – surrounded my love and attention. And I always imagined that this happened because we don’t leave here and we only see them once a year but NO! They are all like that! I see my cousins – my aunts with their sisters and all… it’s just all the time – spending TIME – quality time with each other, having fun and loving.
I know realize how much I have changed - how much of me I have lost...

It’s such a mix of cultures and ways to live. Today we are in downtown at the most beautiful museums I ever seen and the day after we are drinking raw milk and eating homemade cheese.

We are never bored - we are never alone (unless u want to be)

We have never stayed in Brasil for such a long time – we usually stay for a month – two tops so we don’t ever get any extra time to enjoy it all. We see family and that is it. This time we have close to 3 months so we have enjoyed in a different way. Sort of like into people’s routine but not really having one. Hard to explain – all I know is that I’m trying not to think about the time to go home but already expecting to be very hard – this time not just for me, but for both boys too. They will miss the attention – the love – the surrounding…

Blah! =oP

more pics...

... I never got to post the other day...

Fiona- my sister's dog came back home - or better - the mail man found her about 15 blocks away from home and made sure she came back! The kids were so happy!
I took her to the Vet - a place where I used to work when going to vet school, made sure she was "flee free" and other parisites as well... and got to see old school friends and Dr. J who was the coolest Vet ever and was always teaching me alot!

Noah bird singing - better: worshiping.

Beautiful Brasil - These two cute birds were hanging by some sort of a string (maybe a kite string or some sort of web that hanged the twig - they set there for hours - right here in front of my mom's house...

Araucaria Pine Tree - typical from ParanĂ¡ - state where my parents live now - one of the symbols of the south of Brasil.

Benji making esfihas too (Noah is in the old post)

It's official

I'm starting now to do all I can in my power to move back with my family to Brasil!!!
What a wonderful place to be! =)

Family goodies you can only find in Brazil...

Vovoh reading bedtime stories...

Vovo Celso horse - (Go figure all of his back pains!)

ESFIHAAAAAAA!! Yummmie! The kids helped prepare it! =)

Book & TV

The kids are in love with Peppa Pig - I found a DVD with 15 episodes all in Portuguese; it also included a book with 2 stories and a little Peppa doll. They watch it at least once a day! =)
Benji is doing amanzinly awesome with his Portuguese. He will actually ask to watch movies or for me to read books in Portugues.
Noah in the other hand says "Mom - it's not working" LOL

Here is what I'm up to now: In English this book is called : "Exorcize your fat soul" - I hope it helps on something -LOL

Pictures from my birthday

I didn't take pictures of my birthday - but today Guga got me the pics from Caco's camera... so here is me with my sleepy head face - I was happly surprised by a bunch of friends and family during my sweet nap for those yummie cakes and a lot of fun! Thanks everyone! =)

Another wedding - another load of pictures!

Another wedding - the last! =) Pheeeeewwww!!!
This one was easier on me (and all of us) - the kids are now used to my parents - so I had a ton of help!
At the church I didn't see anything - we were outside the whole time, the kids were running around with other kids and having a blast - at the reception everyone had a great time. Noah felt asleep half away trought and Benji eat VERY well (I was so happy about it!) He danced around the dance floor, went out taking pictures of everyone and got the best shoots too!

They were both a "big topic" at the party - how friendly and adorable they were. Of course any mom would be proud =)

End of the party - tired but still having fun!!!

Benji & Mommy - he is enjoying his H20 LOL

Sissy & BIL2B

Noah crashed

One of Ben's pics! My mom & dad - so cute!

Cousins that hanged out together years ago never really imagined their kids playing together! =)

Noah hanging on the cake table!!! My beautiful blue eyed baby!

The cake topper - just like the bride and groom....

My sissy - that I love! Always sharing good times!

My boys... Thank you Jesus for such a blessing!

The car the bride can in... prety cool hu?

End of the party - hair falling off - bt still I loved it! =)

The boys got a new friend....

Benji & Noah made friends with my friend's child. K & I went to school together - from like 7th grade all the way to high school and her son Nicholas is just a few months younger then Benji.
They came to Benji's 1st and 3rd birthday parties we had for Benji in Brasil but they never really played (of course - they were so young)

Now we have being getting together so they can play. The boys have so much fun together and K & I talk our elbows off - Just fun! =)

Bisneto de peixe so pode ser peixe!

Like we say in Brasil - "A fish's kids can only be fish!" or like you guys say in America - The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree....

My grandpa was from the North of Brasil - where they eat "farina" with EVERYTHING! (farinha is a type of flour - now usually seasoned - I think it's very yummie) and people from North of Brasil - we joke that specially the Baianos - People born in Bahia love farinha!

So do my kids - the greatgrandkids of Mr. Lidio love the thing! He would be so proud! (He passed away when Benji was 3 months older - a week after meeting Benji for the first time and having a wonderful week together)

Another brazilian thing - speedos! LOL

You GO Brasil!!!!

Ford Plant in Brasil

More wedding stuff...

One little reasons why I married him!

He is so funny! Dan is just so much fun!
- My best friend! My love. Makes my life so much happier!

He wrote me this beautiful letter on my birthday with a list of many reasons why he loves me... I sure love everysingle reasons but here is my favorite one:

*I Love the way you sing without knowing all the words*

A few more I like just as much:

*I Love our conversations*
*I Love how you light up the room*
*I Love that you strive to search for God and meaning everywhere*
*I Love that you are an awesome mother*
*I Love your eyes*

The Shoe Box

A man and woman had been married for more than 60 years.
They had shared everything. They had talked about everything.
They had kept no secrets from each other except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover.

In trying to sort out their affairs, the little old man took down the shoe box and took it to his wife's bedside.
She agreed that it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted dolls and a stack of money totaling over $95,000.

He asked her about the contents. When we were to be married, she said, my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doll.

The little old man was so moved; he had to fight back tears. Only two precious dolls were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. 'Honey,' he said, 'that explains the doll, but what about all of this money?
Where did it come from?'

' Oh,' she said, 'that's the money I made from selling the dolls.'

A Prayer:
Dear Lord, I pray for Wisdom to understand my man;
Love to forgive him; And Patience for his moods;
Because Lord, if I pray for Strength,
I'll beat him to death, because I don't know how to crochet.

I say: LOL - Thank goodness I do know how to crochet!!! =)

Funny or sad?

My sister and her bff (since pre-school) K are (seriously) playing a game “Guess what Noah is saying”

LOL

Rainy days meant many movies

Which is not true at my house, but at mom’s house the kids were so happy playing with cousins so I had a ton of time! I should’ve read a book – I know but my brain was asking for more rest (it’s getting lazy)

* Wedding date – too predictable but I liked it!

* Premonition – shouldn’t have watched – lol (yes – go ahead and make fun of me but now I keep thinking about my dreams!) but I loved it!

* Love Guru – Funny!

* License to wed – Girls movie but ok!

* Brokeback Mountain – I guess it took me so long to watch this movie that when I finally did I didn’t care anymore but still was ok!

And I know there were more but now I can't think of it - of course as I turn off the computer the names will pop right up but then I'll post later! =)

So it's my birthday again!

And I'm 28!!!

I had an awesome surprise birthday party with 2 cakes - just in case and lots of fun and nice people around me! I loved how Benji enjoyed this day! She was so happy that it was my day - now that is over all he can talk about is his birthday... That is coming soon!

Dan sent me this awesome msg - it got me in tears! Everyone wrote or sent a msg!
I'll be honest - I sure was surprised! =) I even got a bunch of gifts!
It was nice time, I didn't get any pics (Caco & Deh - send me them - pls!)

Quick Update

Noah’s speech seems to be developing very well, he is just like a parrot and repeats whatever we say, English or Portuguese. He absolutely surprised me with the amount of words he’s added to his vocabulary. I can’t remember if he did this before or not, but he’s doing somersaults unassisted. Also, his eating schedule is great! He’ll eat everything and anything you put on his plate. He will walk by the fruit basket and grab a banana or any other fruit. He’s so cute, everything he’s eating, if it falls on the floor, he’ll put it aside and say: “Give to it ‘Fee – aw – na’ (Fiona, my sister’s dog)”.

I’m afraid of spoiling by saying it, but he’s sleeping very well through the night and he did great without his dad (they are so attached). I think somehow he transferred his attachment from dad to Tia Claudia, but still loves to see daddy on the computer and every time I’m on the phone he’ll ask to talk to daddy.

Benjamin was extremely adaptable with all the changes but yesterday woke up crying saying he missed his house and his daddy.
He’s on “rehab” when it comes to chicken nuggets; he’s gone without it for 2 or 3 weeks now. I can also mention but not explain how much he’s been dancing!!! Every song he listens to he’ll start moving and even brake dancing! Haha SO cute!
He loves to take showers and play in the pool, tia Claudia showed him how to blow bubbles in the water so it won’t come into his nose, and he’s been using the technique even in the shower. He’s been sleeping with Tia Claudia, no diapers on and no wet bed!
His vocabulary is also improving a bunch. He surprises us with full sentences in Portuguese, like the other day he said to my dad “NĂ£o tem mais” (Meaning there are no more tracks left– for them to build a track for the trains) and other things – pretty cool.

Funny is how so quickly he realized that most people here just don’t understand English and he teaches them! Always talking slow, using sign language or pointing! Way too cool!

I have a ton of pictures but my mom is “jealous” of the computer and won’t let me spend much time online, so I can't pst them =oP! She believes that I can forget about blogging and other stuff I do online while I’m here cause she doesn’t want to waist a minute!
IT’s so funny how she and I get into little fights daily but I just can’t imagine my life without her! The way she treats my kids and let them comfortable, it’s amazing! I – myself don’t let my kids basically destroy my house like she does! They are the world to her – and vacation can’t ever be anywhere else. I think only here they can truly enjoy EVERY second! I’m so happy!
Frances is also like that with the kids – her house is “for the kids” and she is just loving and caring with the boys! As much as I would love to go to other family – and states or places I just can’t picture my kids being so limited to do things when my mom and my mother in law basically let them be! =) It’s too much of a joy!!!
It’s pouring out rain and my mom was supposed to be home like 2 hours ago. I understand the rain makes traffic terrible, and again – as much as she gets to me sometimes and as much as I’m enjoying being able to be online without worrying – I’m nervous she isn’t here yet!

A day at the farm...

Today we went to my mom's family farm. It was awesome!
Benji & Noah had so much fun! (Noah too... but he did stay more around the house)
as Benji wanted to see everything... the chickens - the eggs - how to make cheese, the milk coming from the cow...
He absolutelly impressed me, cause he is so sensitive when it comes to what he sees - he'll barf for no reason, but this time he got he fish, watch my cousin kill and clean the fish, tried diferent food, ran thru the woods and corn fields, help a peep and a bunch of other funs things.
I believe he learned more in a day than he would in weeks of reading books or anyone else could teach.
Every Sunday morning there is a street fair in my parent's city. Seven , maybe eight blocks of downtown is full of arts and crafts. All kids of things you can imagine - or not - like household, food, craft, clothing, shoes... you name it!

My mom kept the kids and I went there with my sister and my aunt. Up and down those hills. If I had money - it woud be all gone! =oP

* A street full of nice places to eat, learn or just see "art"

* I loved this idea for shelves...

* A little piece of the street fair

* and I came home to some happy and well fed kids! =)
