Happy as a mom - sad as a daughter

I got hit by my first “Mommy, I love you” before bed time just a couple of nights ago… what an awesome treat for a mom!

In the other hand – as a daughter I just got hit by the news my dad has more cancer – liver this time – it’s the same as the colon what makes it bad (metastases) and he is having surgery as early as next week.
I want to go see him but I don’t want to leave Dan alone (we don’t have $ anyways) but I feel so guilt that he won’t be able to be with the kids!

Right now I feel very desinencuraged. Extra prayers, positive energy or whatever is that you do to my daddy and family =(
Thanks!

Later that day I wrote:
I wish my family & a few of my friends were closer too…

I’m very thankful for the neighbors we have in our community! There’s like 5 families that are just amazing people and good friends!

We hanged out last Saturday night, grilled out some dinner, had a fire, roasted marshmallows, smoked cigar and make some music, played “But Tarts” (I didn’t – I crashed before it but I heard it was fun!), the kids had a good time and it’s just a nice nice evening/night.

I wish a few of my friends were closer too

Some more updates

Our carpet was tan color – now is yellow – Noah has now pooped twice between diaper changes and it won’t come out. Sure – it’s my fault and you think I would know better after 2 kids

We went to the zoo Friday – it was the perfect day – awesome time. Me and the three kids = I’m sore! Between wearing a kid and pushing another two on the double stroller I think I would love to see a Dr. Bill! =)

Noah stands by himself for like 5 seconds – I would say another month he’ll be walking. (Oh dear, my baby!) Yesterday I left him downstairs and run up to get something and when I looked back he was upstairs – if I haven’t seeing it I wouldn’t believe it – he never done 1 step before (that I seeing it) and there it goes we got him half way up the steps! He also has one top tooth sticking out – it looks so funny!

My friend Ben and his band Rumpke Mountain Boys are gonna be playing at Hookahville this year and we are considering on making up there – I think Nickie, /Shawn and Noah are going and it’s “sort of” kids friendly. So – we’ll see; tickets are not so bad $65 bucks but after gas, hotel and food it can get very expensive!

I dreamed of funeral cars the past two nights – now how crippy is that??

Benji got his first big deal bloody booboo – His toe got sliced out somehow outside and it was bleeding for a little while.

Past couple of weeks

It’s being a while since I had time to write – I probably won’t remember half of the things that happened this past couple of week, but at least the most important ones will be recorded!

* We had a visit to the zoo with the bible study group and kids to do a egg hunt but after walking all around Benji and Jessica felt asleep and never got to do the egg hunt!

* Lilly, Derek and the kids came for Easter, we already had plans for Sunday so Samantha stayed with the kids on Saturday so Dan & I + Lilly & Derek could hang out Saturday night and we had a very nice time. * Easter Sunday was fun. There was an awesome service at Lifeland. Dan cooked this awesome meal; he stuffed pork two different ways; one with Fresh Mozzarella, Basil and Roma Tomatoes (OMG!!!) and the other with a Spinach Paste he made up, Cheese and some other seasonings… We also had some Italian Sausage, and some sort of beef on the grill (That tasted very much like a Brazilian cut), all that with Vinagrette and rice “the perfect combination”. For he grand finale we had some Maracuja Mousse spread on this delicious white cake with coconut! (Dear, I gained 5 #s just thinking about it!) * Not sure if I already said that but Noah is cruising around very well and fast too. Standing up by himself, clapping, dances on sound of music

* Benji is finally done with pacifiers – he now can se them and still be ok. Now that is over it doesn’t feel like it was that hard. Very much into sports, outside (and frustrated with the weather), books and trains. Just got another couple molars (ouch!) and talking like a parrot! I’m introducing more and more words in Portuguese daily. Sleeping good 10 hours *alone* in his bed! Using the potty occasionally.

* I finished watching the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and surprisingly I enjoyed it! Now I started reading “Finding God in the Lord of the Rings” by Kurt Bruner & Jim Ware Other books to finish are:
Free at last by Larry Huch
Unconditional Parenting by Alfie Kohn
Bringing up boys by James Dobson
My brother’s keepers by McCormick
Hold onto your kids by Gordon & Mate M.D

* My dad, Claudia and Tia Sandra meet with my 2 uncles and grandfather for the first time and it sounds like they got along very well – It made very happy; this was something I always wanted to happen and even thou I was sad for not being there I was really please to hear how well it went. * We worked on *some* of our landscaping – there’s still lots to be done around the house and the deck but the front it’s looking pretty sharp! I’m very pleased. Tim and Dan worked on past Tuesday and Tim worked alone for another 4 days…

* We went to the Y at the pool with some Brazilians, Katie meet us there w/ Sage and the twins. Benji is just in love with the pool and it’s pretty neat to watch! Katie looks so good – she is due anytime and her belly it’s just awesome! We are excited to see that baby’s face!

* Talking about babies – Isabella is here!! She came on 04/04 - Congratis guys!

* Melissa B. is pregnant!!!

* I drove both boys and me to Perdue and back last Saturday, it took me about 7 hours total (Man – I was tired) for a Brazilian service – that by His grace was pouring His good promises! (Dan 3)
And soon pictures from the past couple of weeks!

Lots of fun time and good food

Samantha came by to watch the kids Friday morning while I went to Shelly’s for the Bible Study. We had a very nice as usual

Benji only wants to be “tataouside” all the time so Saturday Dan had Bill & Jeff helping to get the steps done on our deck so we don’t have to go all the way around the house LOL
It looks great and apparently was more complicated them everyone expected. We left for a couple of hours to the “annual” Brazilian children’s Easter Egg Hunt at GrandMae’s house.

Benji enjoyed his time, and all the candy! Noah ate grass and mud. =)

Later that night the Kilgalons came by and Amy – we grilled out, had some wine and smoked some cigars while the kids played in the basement/outside – Very nice time…
Sunday flew by – we never noticed and the only thing really I accomplished was a little shopping at Michaels, Target and some laundry!

We went to Frank & Dari’s house by Papa’s request and hanged out there way later then we should – lol – it was so good! The kids played wel together and like Dari said: “It felt a little like home”

They gave Benji this awesome train table with a lot of tracks and trains - he played on it al day!
- Thanks so much Dari!

Papa stayed at home today and that is always the best so the boys were all over him, we had Tim & Katie over for dinner, we had sushi, sashimi and the best best best fruit for desert -Yummie!! =)
